'Melodi': Italy PM Giorgia Meloni shares COP28 summit selfie with ‘good friend’ PM Modi

Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni on Friday shared a heartwarming selfie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi using the popular hashtag ‘Melodi' on her social media. Meloni posted the selfie on her official Instagram handle as well as on her X account with a caption “Good friends at COP28.”
Light hearted and warm interactions between the two world leaders at global summits such as the Group of 20, which was hosted under India's chairmanship here in the Capital New Delhi, were made viral on social media using the hashtag #Melodi. Online users widely share images of PM Modi and PM Meloni to depict their friendly bilateral ties as the two world leaders are often spotted immersed in friendly and candid discussions at the global forums.

‘Look forward to India-Italy collaborative efforts for prosperous future’: PM Modi
On December 1, Prime Minister Modi met with Italian Prime Minister Meloni on the sidelines of the United Nations' World Climate Action Summit (COP28) in Dubai. As he held talks with PM Meloni of Italy, PM Modi said that he looks forward to India-Italy collaborative efforts for a prosperous future of both the nations. Prime Minister wrote on his official X handle, ”Met PM @GiorgiaMeloni of Italy on the sidelines of COP28 meeting. Looking forward to collaborative efforts between India and Italy for a sustainable and prosperous future.”

Prime Minister on Friday was heartily welcomed warmly by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the venue where the climate summit was held in Dubai. “Glad to join the COP-28 Summit, a pivotal platform for global climate action. Looking forward to engaging in meaningful dialogues and collaborations for a sustainable future,” PM Modi said on X account.
Prime Minister also met with the Guyanese President Irfaan Ali later, and he underscored the importance of ‘close cooperation’ among the countries of the Global South to meet the goal of the climate and sustainable future."Delighted to meet Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana. Our discussions underscored the importance of close cooperation among Global South countries in pursuing a sustainable future for our planet," the PM wrote on X.
