After an outstanding show was put up by the Texas India Forum in the NRG Stadium on September 22 during the Howdy Modi event, Nikki Haley who is the former Indian-American US Ambassador to the UN, while hailing the unity of both the countries at the mega diaspora event said that the partnership between the two countries is great and has only strengthened with time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, during the event, shared the stage and addressed a massive crowd of 50,000 people of the Indian-American community. Haley who was the first-ever Indian-American to have served any presidential Cabinet praised the partnership in a tweet on Sunday. She also re-tweeted President Trump’s tweet in which he had expressed love for India on behalf of the United States.

Always in for US-India relationship

The daughter of Indian immigrants from Punjab, Haley has always been an advocate of the India-US relationship. She has also served as the governor of South Carolina state. The event, with the tagline 'Shared Dreams, Bright Futures', highlighted the tremendous contribution of Indo-Americans in the United States while also showcasing the strong and evergrowing partnership between the US and India.

PM thanked the organisers

During his address to people, PM Modi thanked the organisers of the event. He said, "Today, all of you have organised a big and nice event. People have attended the event in big numbers. All the efforts that you have taken have borne fruit. There is a lot more than this event that you have done which is not seen. You have gathered 50,000 people in Texas and in their presence, you have laid a foundation for a bright future."

The Prime Minister also said, "The benefits of your actions will take a long time to be realized, probably even for those who were present here today. You have executed a very big and vital task and on behalf of all Indians, I thank you all.” The cultural programme preceding Prime Minister Modi's address showcased Indian-American artists from Texas and elsewhere. It involved broad-based community participation across the United States. The Indo-Americans had been excited and enthusiastic about the event since weeks and had not failed to show it out through Indian flags outside their homes and huge digital billboards about the event.
