'Howdy, Modi!': Billboards' surge in Texas to welcome PM Modi
The state of Houston, US gears up its preparations to welcome the Indian PM. The 'Howdy, Modi!' event is all set to be held in Houston on September 22, 2019

With just three days to go for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the United States, the state of Texas gears up to welcome the Indian PM. The 'Howdy, Modi!' event, which is all set to be held in Houston on September 22 will be PM Modi's third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the Prime Minister in 2014. The city has been set up with huge billboards to welcome the Indian Prime Minister. One billboard in Houston read, "India House Houston welcomes Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi." Another one read, "India is Houston's fourth-largest trading partner. Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston welcomes Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi."
PM Modi To Visit Houston On September 22
More than 50,000 Indian-Americans from across the US have already registered for the September 22 'Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures' event to be held at the NRG Stadium in Houston. Earlier, President of the United States, Donald Trump had confirmed his presence through a press release at the 'Howdy, Modi!' event alongside the Indian PM. The Twitter page of Texas India Forum, host of the 'Howdy, Modi!' community summit in Houston, has been sharing videos of people across the states who are excited to welcome the Indian PM. India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar also spoke about PM Modi's visit to the US and said that India-US relations have come a long way.
PM Asks People To Share Ideas For His Address
For his address to the mega Indian diaspora in Houston, PM Modi has urged people to share their ideas which he would refer to in his speech during his remarks, through a tweet on September 16. He also attributed the decision of President of the United States, Donald Trump, to join the event alongside him to the 'strong friendship' between the two countries.
