It’s not just audiences in Telugu-speaking states and other parts of the country and the world who are loving ‘Maharshi.’ Even the Vice President of the country, Venkaiah Naidu has given his thumbs up to the Mahesh Babu-starrer. Naidu praised the movie for spreading the message surrounding farmers and villages while congratulating the team for the success. The lead actor was left overwhelmed with the words of praise, calling it a ‘huge honour’ and that he was inspired to make more movies like the recent release with the leader's views.
Vice President Naidu on Tuesday took to Twitter on Tuesday to share that he watched ‘Maharshi’ with his family and termed it as a movie, set in the rural areas, that sends the message of protecting farmers and the farming sector. Impressed by the movie, he added that everyone should go and watch the film. Vice President also lauded the makers for bringing out the richness of the villages. He also congratulated Mahesh Babu for his performance, Vamsi Paidipally for his direction and the entire ‘Maharshi’ team for their work.
According to reports, ‘Maharshi’ has grossed over Rs 50 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone, while it is being said that it has collected over Rs 100 crore worldwide.
Mahesh Babu replied, “Sir.. This is such an honour for me personally & our whole team... it can't get better than this. Thank you Sir, your words have inspired us to keep doing more films like "Maharshi".. on behalf of Team Maharshi... humbled, Sir."
Even Mahesh Babu’s wife, actress Namrata Shirodkar expressed her delight by sharing translated screenshots of Naidu’s Telugu message.
Earlier, the Vice President had similarly praised ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike.’
