Karni Sena threatens to block the release of Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 3'
Karni Sena has threatened to block the release of Dabangg 3 if Bigg Boss 13 doesn't get banned. They have accused the reality show of promoting Love Jihad.
The Rajasthan-based organisation Karni Sena has surfaced into the limelight once again as it has threatened to block the release of Dabangg 3 if Bigg Boss 3 does not get banned from the small screen. The Karni Sena has accused the reality TV show of promoting Love Jihad and being against the Indian culture.
Earlier on October 10, the apex body of ascetics Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad had also opposed reality TV show Bigg Boss 13 and said it should be pulled off air immediately as the show is "against Indian culture".
"We vehemently oppose the show. We respect Salman Khan and appeal to him to immediately to pull it off the air," Akhara Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri said while addressing the media.
The Karni Sena group also wrote to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, asking him to put a ban on the show. The letter refers to a clip from the show involving contestants from different religions and goes on to tender an opinion on pre-marital relations.
"Under the Hindu act, I request the government to immediately ban the show because it is being telecasted on national TV. Bigg Boss show has totally ruined the Indian culture," it states.
Karni Sena also wrote a letter to Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis as the entire shooting of ‘Bigg Boss’ takes place in the state. In their letter, the fringe group has demanded Maharashtra CM to order action against makers of the reality show.
Post the threat by Karni Sena, security has been beefed up outside the residence of Bigg Boss host Salman Khan.
Trade body against Bigg Boss
The Confederation of All India Traders had also written a letter to the I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar, requesting that popular television show be taken off the air. "Our country’s traditional and cultural values are being tarnished in the lust of TRP and profits”, read the post. It also went on to state that the 'Bed Friend Forever' concept in the show is 'deplorable and against all ethics of television world'. The letter also demanded shows like Bigg Boss to go through Censor Board just as movies do.
Karni Sena and their protests against films
Earlier in the past, the fringe group has demanded a ban on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie ‘Padmaavat’, Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and Ayushman Khurrana starrer ‘Article 15’.
