BREAKING: Massive Fire Grips Building in Moscow, 9 People Feared Trapped
The Russian emergency services stated that a huge fire gripped the Platan Research Institute in Fryazino located near Moscow. Several people feared trapped.
Moscow: A massive fire engulfed an electronics research institute near the capital city Moscow in Russia on Monday, leaving several people trapped on the upper floors of the building. The Russian emergency services and officials confirmed the incident saying that a huge fire gripped the commercial building, the Platan Research Institute in Fryazino located near Moscow in Russia.
According to the officials, at least nine people were trapped on the upper floors of the burning electronics research institute. Following the incident several footage showed some of the people smashing windows as flames and black smoke billowed out of the building.
Rescue Operation is Being Carried Out at the Site
Following the fire incident, the Emergency Ministry stated, "According to preliminary information, there are 9 more people in the building. The rescue operation continues."
Moscow regional governor, Andrei Vorobyov, said the fire had engulfed three floors of the building. He said, "According to eyewitnesses, there may be seven more people in the building. The search for victims continues."
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has stated that the process to evacuate the building has been initiated and a few persons have been rescued. During the fire incident, dense black smoke was seen rising from the main building of the Platan Research Institute.
There is no information about the causes of the fire and casualties yet.
