Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry urged Lebanese officials to quickly form a new government on Wednesday, in order to help the country emerge from its worst economic and financial crisis in decades.
Shoukry met with senior politicians including President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-Designate Saad Hariri in Beirut.
Lebanon has been without a government since former prime minister Hassan Diab and his Cabient resigned on Aug. 10, six days after the massive blast at Beirut's port which killed more than 200 people.
Hariri was appointed to form a new Cabinet in October but has so far failed amid political bickering by rival groups.
