Nelson Mandela's daughter Zenani will be SA ambassador to South Korea

Zenani Mandela-Dlamini, daughter of late anti-apartheid activist and Nobel laureate, Nelson Mandela, has been appointed as South Africa's appointed ambassador to South Korea. She visited Seoul on October 17 where she visited the South Korean Foreign Ministry to hold official meetings. Mandela-Dlamini is the eldest daughter of Nelson Mandela.
'Happy to be serving in Korea'
As per reports, she said that she is really happy to be serving in Korea. She said that she thins that both countries (South Africa and South Korea) have got a great bilateral relationship. Mandela-Dlamini stated that she will continue to strengthen ties and that she looks forward to do that in her tenure as the ambassador. She is expected to present her credentials to President Moon Jae-in soon. She was named as the ambassador to South Korea earlier this year.
About Mandela-Dlamini
Mandela-Dlamini who is currently 60 years of age is the eldest daughter born to the late political leader and his second wife Winnie Mandela. She was nearly born in prison, as Winnie Mandela was arrested close to her birth in 1959 and when she was four her father was sent to prison, where he would stay for the next 27 years. Not until 1974, when she was 16 years old she finally visited him.
Mandela-Dlamini studied at Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa and science at Boston University. It was there that she first met Prince Thumbumuzi Dlamini of Swaziland, who was the elder brother of reigning King of Swaziland, Mswati III and of Queen Mantfobi of Zulus who was studying science at the same university. The two married in 1973 and had four children. In her previous roles, she served as the South African ambassador to Argentina for five years from 2017 and then was appointed as the high commissioner to Mauritius.
