Trivializing a serious attack on minorities, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Wednesday made the blasphemy attack on a Hindu in Pakistan's Ghotki all about himself. In a video of a press conference given by the Prime Minister shows him alleging that the Ghotki attack was an attempt to sabotage his speech at UN General assembly. Though he condemns the attack, he curiously states 'whoever did the attack' knew when he was going to be at the UNGA. He further alleged that during Pakistan's struggle for Kashmir, such attacks would only make India blame them.

Imran Khan alleges conspiracy in 'Ghotki attack'

"The incident I have seen in Ghotki village, whoever did it, I condemn the attack on our Hindu community strongly.  This was done to sabotage my appearance at the UN. Our constitution treats everyone equally. So, whoever is doing this is against our religion and Constitution. Now when we are fighting for Kashmir, India will now see this attack and say such attacks happen within Pakistan also," he says in the tweet posted by a Pakistani user.

Imran Khan and Kashmir

On the other hand, Imran Khan has repeatedly meddled into the Kashmir issue since the Indian Parliament abrogated article 370. He has repeatedly fearmongered and peddled fake news on Kashmir's ground situation. He has also faced defeat on an international scale after he called for global mediation into the bilateral issue. After facing defeat at the UNHRC, UN informal meeting, European Parliament, G7 Summit, Khan is determined to bring up Kashmir at the upcoming UN General Assembly meeting. India has all the while maintained its stance that the abrogation of article 370 is an internal matter while any other disputes regarding Kashmir will be solved bilaterally.
