Imran Khan has irked people yet again after admitting that Pakistan trained Mujahideens to fight Soviets in Afghanistan back in the 1980s. Attempting to play the victim card, the Pakistan Prime Minister said that it is 'unfair' to blame Pakistan for US' failure in Afghanistan.
In an exclusive interview to Russia Today, Imran Khan said that the Islamabad is the victim for siding with Washington on their 'war on terror' post 9/11. Imran Khan added that after the US troops invaded Afghanistan to fight the Taliban, Pakistan should have taken a neutral stand.
He said, "In the 80s we were training these Mujahideen people to do jihad against Soviet when they occupied Afghanistan. So, these people were trained by Pakistan, funded by the US's CIA and now a decade later when the Americans come into Afghanistan." "The same groups who are all in Pakistan are supposed to say that now because Americans are there it is no longer jihad its terrorism. It was a big contradiction and I strongly felt that Pakistan should have been neutral because by joining in, these groups turned against us," he added.
Here's what netizens had to say:
Lmao he just agreed that terrorists are from Pakistan 😂

Such an honest confession by @ImranKhanPTI how Pakistan spread terrorism in past and have not stopped doing it yet. To make Pakistan look sweet kid 🧒 he blames it on US. It won’t work Mr Khan!

Pakistan hub of terrorism
Describing Pakistan as the "hub of terrorism", India has strongly hit back at the country for raking up the Kashmir issue at the Security Council. India had slammed Pakistan and said that it misused the UN forum to spread "baseless and deceitful" narratives about it. Pakistan's envoy to the UN Maleeha Lodhi raised the Kashmir issue during a General Assembly session on Report of the Security Council for 2018 on Friday. Lodhi referred to India's August 5 decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution which ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Masood Azhar, the UN-designated terrorist has been freed by Pakistan, as per top Republic sources, putting to display the country's duplicity on terror once again. Despite facing the heat of FATF, according to sources, the Jaish-e-Mohammed chief was secretly released by Pakistan after he was taken into preventive custody following the Pulwama terror attack on February 14.
