Impassive response to Imran Khan's 'Naya Pakistan Calling'; only 640 Pakistani expats willing to contribute for home-country

Launched by the Imran Khan government, the 'Naya Pakistan Calling' (NCP) job portal received a tepid response from overseas citizens. 

An online portal to engage professions working abroad for the national development saw merely 640 Pakistani expatriates interested in sharing their proficiency back home until April 28

The maximum number of Pakistanis now residing in UAE sent their applications online, followed by expatriates in Saudi Arabia were keen to go back to Pakistan and work. 

Around 187 Pakistani nationals in UAE and 184 from Saudi Arabia applied for jobs in their native country from the initiative by Imran Khan's government, thus a total of 371 ot of the 640 came from these two countries.

However, the responses from the United States, United Kingdom and Europe were the lowest. 

The CVs of candidates have been shared with the concerned departments, and the aspirants will be given a chance to share their skills in relevant fields. 

Pakistanis abroad registered themselves at the Overseas Pakistan Foundation (OPF) website with the intent to indulge in Imran Khan's vision of a 'Naya Pakistan' 

The portal was assembled within the first 100 days of Imran Khan's government by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development with the motive to integrate the Pakistani Diaspora back in the mainstream.

Pakistani Prime Minister's Special Assistant, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development noted that the platform was instituted on the ideas of Imran Khan who showed eagerness in leveraging valuable assets of Pakistan. 

Bukhari added how this initiative is carving a path for expatriates to engage in decision and policy making process of the country. 

However, this 'Naya Pakistan' has found it difficult to get rid of old habits, as Pakistan's opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has repeatedly questioned Pakistan's inaction against groups that attack "other nations"

Bilawal Bhutto, son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, was addressing a media at the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday where the top opposition leader decried the contrast between the punishment given to his mother and his father -- former Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari -- and the lack of action against "groups that killed children in Pakistan and carried out attacks on foreign soil".

Adding to that, Bilawal Bhutto claimed there are at least three ministers from Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party who have links to banned groups. He then put forth 3 conditions for the government to fulfil and prove seriousness:

• Form Parliament's National Security Committee
• Distance from past actions/statements in support of the banned organisation 
• Remove 3 ministers who have had an association with the banned organisation
