‘Paris Paris’: Kajal Aggarwal's remake of ‘Queen’ lands in censor trouble, makers to appeal

‘Paris Paris’: Kajal Aggarwal's remake of ‘Queen’ lands in censor trouble, makers to appeal

Kajal Aggarwal-starrer ‘Paris Paris’, the remake of Kangana Ranaut’s National Award-winning ‘Queen’, has been suggested numerous cuts by the censor board. The makers are now knocking on the doors of the Revising Committee to overturn the blurs as well as audio and video cuts.

Queen remakes:

‘Queen’ is being adapted into the four South languages, Tamil (Paris Paris), Telugu (That is Mahalakshmi), Malayalam (Zam Zam) and Kannada (Butterfly), and Kajal Aggarwal, Tamannaah Bhatia, Manjima Mohan and Parul Yadav are respectively stepping into the shoes of Kangana Ranaut. The movies have been in the making since 2017, and the teasers were also unveiled in December last year, but there had been no official announcement about the release dates.

Censor Trouble:

Now, it seems that makers are planning to release the film soon as they submitted the movie to the censor board for certification. As per reports, the Kannada and Malayalam versions were certified as it, but the Tamil version was suggested blurs as well as audio and video cuts.  As per a statement going viral on social media and also shared by South industries’ tracker Ramesh Bala, the makers ‘have decided to refer this movie to the Revised Committee for review and necessary approvals.’

The Tamil and Kannada version have been directed Ramesh Aravind. ‘Paris Paris’ also stars Elli AvrRam and Varun Shashi Rao in the characters played by Lisa Haydon and Rajkummar Rao respectively in the original. 

Released in 2014, 'Queen', directed by Vikas Bahl, had won the National Award for Best Hindi Film and Best Actress.
