A red wave sailed through the city of Milan on September 4 as it witnessed swarms of people numbering up to thousands entering the Italian city's Piazza Duomo to celebrate 90th anniversary of both the Formula One team and the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

The Formula one race will have a mention on the calendar till 2024, after inking a brand new agreement in front of a cheering crowd. Formula One chief Chase Carey and  Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile president Jean Todt met ACI (Italian Automobile Club) head Angelo Sticchi Damiani on the podium to talk about Monza being safe until the year 2024.

Damiani was heard saying that it was difficult but a contract was agreed upon and Monza will witness the Italian Grand Prix taking place until 2024. Formula one president also said that he was delighted with the development that took place. With the latest development, everyone is happy because the Formula One family has witnessed a grand Prix in Monza since the birth of the championship in the year 1950, barring 1980.

The race at Monza will take place on September 8 after Ferrari's Charles Leclerc's maiden win in Belgium. Ferrari is expected to win the upcoming race in front of its home crowd. Ferrari head Louis Camilleri thanked everyone for attending the event and called them the lifeline of Ferrari.

People were also seen cheering for Ferrari's most successful driver Michael Schumacher who met with a skiing accident in December 2013 that led to his disappearance from public life due to his critical condition. The red carpet was shared by present Ferrari drivers  Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel along with drivers from the team's past such as 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, Arturo Merzario, Jean Alesi and Alain Massa.

An Italian celebration

A lot of popular cars of an era long gone were driven around. The Ferrari drivers could be seen driving iconic models such as Alfa Romeo 8C, 750 Monza along with the Ferrari 312 T.

A fan of the F1 team said that their time at the event had been worth it as they got to see cars and people who have driven for Ferrari in the past and the present.

One more fan shared his experience and said that the environment was such that they could imagine themselves in the F1 driver's shoes.

Another fan who was a native said that he was delighted because it was an Italian celebration and hearing the noises that the engines made were pleasant to the ears.
