50 ventilators donated by Germany arrive in Madrid

German authorities have donated 50 much needed ventilators to help the Spanish health care system during the coronavirus pandemic.

The donation was flown into Madrid, early Friday morning by two Spanish Air Force planes.

The Spanish health system has a desperate need for ventilators to assist patients in Intensive Care Units.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
