An Austrian BASE jumper was rescued in the southern Thai province of Phattalung on Monday after getting stuck on a near vertical cliff for hours when his parachute caught a rock's edge.
Local residents spotted 28-year-old Johannes Grasser dangling almost 200 metres above the ground, held by his harness.
Rescue workers spent more than two hours hiking to the top of the cliff and had to use climbing ropes to lower one rescuer down toward Grasser.
Grasser suffered light injuries from the impact when the wind blew him toward the cliff which overlooks Phattalung's downtown, rescuers said.
Grasser was part of a base jumper team who performed a show on Thai Children's Day on Saturday, January 11.
He returned to jump again with his wife on Monday.
