Coronavirus: Brazilians evacuated from virus-stricken Wuhan

Brazilian nationals on Friday were preparing to depart Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the virus outbreak.

The evacuees will travel on a government chartered plane to Anápolis before they are placed into quarantine for up to 14 days.

Footage which was filmed by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry when the evacuees were being driven by coach to the airport showed desolate roads across Wuhan.

No cases of the infection have been confirmed in Latin American so far.

More than 600 people have died and at least 31,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus, mostly all in China.
