With social media being the most popular platform to interact and communicate with people all over the world, it seems that two cultures locked horns as the Brits mocked a video of an American woman downing an entire bottle of Smirnoff Ice. In the USA, the 'icing' game is treated as something very popular and an American citizen from Texas, Meagan Garza, iced her girlfriend, Shelby Kyser when they met each other for the first time. Meagan stated that she thought it was a very cool way of introducing herself to Shelby.

I iced my girlfriend the first time we ever met and she should have known from that day on that this would never be a boring relationship.. pic.twitter.com/uotmlM5TPw

Meagan posted a video on Twitter, that had Shelby kneel down and down the entire bottle of the sweetened alcohol. In the caption, Garza added that she wanted her girlfriend to know that this relation would be a fun rollercoaster ride.
The viral video garnered a lot of attention, especially from Britain, wherein a lot of people posted different comments.
Someone posted a tweet that talked about how different things are done in his home country.
In Scotland we drink them before playing soccer. Grow up.

Another user posted a tweet that stated how someone would be mocked for having a Smirnoff Ice in Britain.
This is a children’s drink in the UK 😂 you would get rinsed for doing this. We chug straight vodka if someone gives us £5 lol

While speaking to an international media outlet, Meagan talked about how she and Shelby felt that the video they had posted was something very funny and it rubbed people off in the wrong way, especially the Britishers.
'Hurtful' comments
She added that her post was subject to a lot of uncomfortable comments such as Americans were really soft people and that America is a bad place with a lot of British abuses.

Garza also narrated an incident wherein a guy found out everything about her and then threatened to cause damage to her house and that led her to mute the playful and funny tweet.
In addition to all of this, Meagan said that icing someone was a common college tradition all over America and her sole motive behind the video was to create something memorable for herself and Shelby.
She also said that even after all the negative comments, the incident proved to be an 'ICING' on the cake as she recently completed a year and a half with her partner with love being the only thing that mattered to both of them.
