An official body from Egypt has reached the Gaza strip in Palestine on September 8 to act as mediators amid rising tensions between Hamas governing the enclave in Palestine and Israel.
Egypt's role as a mediator
According to reports, in the latter half of August, Egypt said it would stop its role as mediators between the fundamentalist militant organization, Hamas, and Israel if the former kept on with its shelling on Israeli territory. However, with recent reports coming in, claims have been made that that the dialogues have not died down and there is continuous flow of communications. With the recent visit of a Hamas delegation to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, taking a positive turn, the group from Egypt arrived to complete the negotiations.
The officials from Egypt are will discuss ways to reduce the suffering of the affected people belonging to the enclave and Israel's promise to apply these changes.
On September 8, Hamas posts were attacked by the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) after an Israeli defense vehicle was attacked by a drone that was launched from the Gaza strip.
Problems boiling between the Palestinians and Israeli's could be seen rising for months now. Hamas is being blamed for Gaza residents hostile actions by the authorities of Israel. The people of Palestine have been seen protesting against Israels's unwillingness to acknowledge Palestine as an independent political body.
The birth of an Islamic militant organization
The Hamas is an Islamic militant organization which mainly operates from the Gaza district but also has its presence in Judea and Samaria. It was headed by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin until he was arrested in the month of May in 1989. The militant organization has had a major role in fanatical subversions complimented by violence and fundamental terrorist attacks that included both Israelis and Arabs. They have deployed their own soldiers to carry out their work.
Hamas elucidated that its prime concern was Jihad to free Palestine and structuring of an Islamic Palestine extending from the Mediterranean sea to the Jordan River. Their current goal is to facilitate an uprising to achieve the set goal with the help of not only Muslims from Palestine but from the entire Islamic community.
The Israel-Palestine conflict can be traced back to 1948 with the creation of Israel in the same year. This conflict came into existence due to intercommunal violence in Palestine that blew out of proportion and escalated into full-blown tension in the 1947-1948 civil war.
