While speaking to a local news agency Karzai said, "Today I am calling on the US government to resume the peace talks with the Taliban and we want the peace talks to be transparent,". Hamid Karzai also urged the Taliban to initiate the peace talks with the Afghan government along with America. The US President Donald Trump on September 8, aborted the peace deal with the Taliban after it took responsibility for the Kabul car bomb blast that killed many people including an American soldier.
