Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 02, 1869, in Porbandar, India. He was a freedom fighter, an advocate and a civil rights activist. Gandhi was the torchbearer of the non-violent movement, harmony, and brotherhood. He is famously known as 'Bapu' or the 'Father of the Nation'. His non-violent activism reached far beyond his homeland and Mahatma Gandhi became a global call for the oppressed all over the world to unite and stand up for the freedom and one's right through peaceful protests. He passed away on January 30, 1948, but his ideologies still continue to inspire people all around the world.
