Indian entry wins gold at Beijing International Horticultural Expo

The eighth edition of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 concluded with India receiving the golden award for its entry into the outdoor garden category. The International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 is accredited as an A1 Exhibition for the international horticulture. The event is organized by the Beijing Municipal Government and hosted by the Chinese Government. This year's theme was 'Live Green, Live Better’. The global media reported the participation of 110 countries and international organizations across the world.
India won gold in 'Harmony with Nature' theme
After Kunming Expo,1999 and Shanghai Expo, the 2010 International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 is a grand event, affiliated as the Expo of the largest scaled and highest level exhibition. India registered under the category of Outdoor Exhibition. The theme of this category was 'Harmony with Nature'. This year’s main theme was ‘Live Green, Live Better’, followed by Integrating Horticulture into Nature and Touching Souls with Nature’. The theme of the expo focuses mainly on landscapes and horticulture inculcating a sense of knowledge, tradition and new innovations prevalent in the field. The exhibition also highlighted the importance of harmony between mankind and nature.
Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition 2019
The exhibition was first hosted in 1999 in the city of Kunming, China. The exhibition is organized in a huge park that covers a total area of 503 hectares in Yanqing District, Beijing. This year the exhibition displayed the most advanced technologies and achievements in the field of horticulture all over the world. It also projected the developments and progress that China has achieved in horticulture and ecological civilization. China has been able to form different Committees at different levels which are being funded by the Central Government of China and the Beijing Municipal Government. There is an Organizing Committee at the national level, an Executive Committee taking care at the Beijing municipal level and a Coordination Bureau of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition. The entries made by different countries undergo rigorous procedures to finally secure the first position.
