Iranian President Hassan Rouhani repeated his country's stance on the US presidential race on Wednesday, claiming it is not important who wins but what actions the next president takes towards Iran sanctions.
"What is important for us is that America returns to respecting the Iranian nation. We want respect instead of sanctions, no matter who is (in office). If he lifts the unfair and illegal sanctions and replaces them with respect, then our situation will be different," Rouhani said in a televised speech.
President Donald Trump has left the 2015 nuclear deal and restored sanctions on Iran as part of its maximum pressure policy.
Meanwhile, state TV broadcast images purporting to show a new multiple rocket launching system in an underground tunnel.
The report described the system as "wagons carrying long-range ballistic missiles which can make machine gun-style, sustained launching" across the country.
The Associated Press could not immediately verify the claims.
