An incident in which a football coach couldn't hold back his tears after watching a video of his student crying while reading out a letter to him has gone viral
An incident in which a football coach at Charles Elementary School, Richmond, Richard Nelloms, was seen crying as he couldn't hold back his tears after watching a video wherein his student was crying while reading out a letter to him, has gone viral. Since then, the video of such a heartwarming gesture has garnered a lot of attention on social media and has prompted a few reactions from people.
A heartwarming gesture
Jayden, who is a first-grade student at the elementary school, just wanted to thank his football coach due to the hard work he had put in throughout the season. In the video, it can be seen that the first-grader is giving a mug to his coach that states “A good coach can change the game. A great coach can change a life". As soon as Nelloms gets the cup, he hugs Jayden and thanks him for the lovely gesture but then the young kid's mother tells Richard that her son has a small note that he wants to read out to him.
Jayden then takes out the small letter and starts reading it out to Richard wherein he thanks him for being the greatest coach and helping him love football again. In the letter, he called Nelloms his favorite coach.
Richard Nelloms then posted on his Facebook handle that he couldn't hold back his tears after he saw the video. Richard added that he felt lucky to get such an opportunity to coach a team like this. He also said that his team was always taught to have a lot of fun no matter what. Nelloms also said that it a dream come true to make an impact on so many people and thanked Jayden for helping him fulfill his dream.
This heartwarming incident prompted a few reactions from netizens.
