The South Korean President spoke of international "solidarity" aims for an "inclusive recovery" from the pandemic as he met with Spain's prime minister and other members of government in Madrid on Wednesday.

Moon Jae-in was greeted at the Moncloa palace, headquarters of the Spanish government, by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, as the two countries seek to deepen economic ties.

The pair held talks and later joined their numerous delegations for joint discussions.

The recovery of both nations from the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight against climate change and the move to greener economies were some of the issues on the table.

On Tuesday, Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-Sook were received with military honors at the royal palace in Madrid by Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.

Moon’s visit to Spain is the first by a South Korean president in 14 years.
