Nepal: 2 foreign trekkers of Dutch and Korean nationalities missing

Rescuers are looking for two foreigners who have gone missing while they went trekking in Nepal's northern district of Rasuwa which is near the Tibetan border

Rescuers are looking for two foreigners who have gone missing while they went trekking in Nepal's northern district of Rasuwa which is near the Tibetan border, since the past 10 days as informed by the police. The two trekkers were last seen on September 22 at Thuman village which is at an altitude of 1,750 metres. The Tamang Heritage Trail is in Langtang and takes hikers relatively closer to the Tibetan border than any other expedition in the region.

Details of the missing persons case

Reports say that the two people missing are 27-year-old Dutch national Thomas and 42 years old Korean national named Si Sung, they went for an expedition to Tamang Heritage Trail in Rasuwa district. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhagendrapurush Dhakal has said that a team under his supervision has been deployed to search the missing foreign trekkers and that it is under their knowledge that they have gone missing from Thuman area of Nepal. As per reports, the two trekkers were last seen on September 22 at Thuman village which is at an altitude of 1,750 metres.

Meanwhile, Tourist Police Outpost at Syaphrubesi says that trekkers were on their way to Tamang Heritage Trail on September 14. As per Dhakal,  The search operation was intensified in spite of bad weather conditions which were further aggravated by heavy rainfall on September 14.

The Tamang Heritage Trail is in Langtang and takes hikers relatively closer to Tibetan border than any other expedition in the region and shows scenic views looking into Tibet which is a great opportunity for trekkers to experience authentic Tamang culture and it is a nice addition to the Langtang trek. Langtang Valley trekking is one of the most visited trekking routes of Nepal. This trail is gifted with sublime mountain views and impressive scenic landscapes. Langtang Valley is a beautiful valley to the north of Kathmandu. Langtang is also a national park spread over an area of 1710 sq. km.
