A shocking video recorded at the Applegreen Service Station in Ballyfermot, Dublin surfaced on social media showing a full-grown rat crawling out of a bag of bread.

While social media has never been devoid of idiosyncrasies, this particular video evoked a feeling of utter disgust among netizens. The video showed two bags of bread placed beside each other when suddenly one of them starts shaking. Within seconds, a huge rat wriggles his way out of the packets onto a pile of plastic lids kept on the same countertop and swiftly makes it way behind the oven and then disappears into thin air.

The video was recorded at the Applegreen Service Station in Ballyfermot, Dublin and amassed a lot of views. Comments flooded in from netizens across all domains.

Netizens express disgust

“Would you like some rat with that?” jokingly commented a Facebook user. “Health-conscious [rat] going for brown bread,” wrote another. “I wouldn’t stand to video him ... would be gone screaming out the door,” commented a third. “This is disgusting,” wrote a fourth.

While many had a good laugh, a lot of netizens expressed their health concerns and posed doubts upon the hygiene level maintained at the Irish brand Brennans from whose packet of bread the rat was seen hopping out.

Joey O’Neill a fellow netizen also took to Facebook to share the clip and wrote ‘Think I’ve had a brown bread sandwich out of there not that long ago’ and followed his comment with several puking emojis.
