Dramatic footage showed two women trapped under a damaged house in Indonesia after a strong, shallow inland earthquake hit Sulawesi island early Friday. The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 6.2 quake was centered 36 kilometers (22 miles) south of West Sulawesi province's Mamuju district, at a depth of 18 kilometers (11 miles).
At least three people were killed and 24 others were injured. Raditya Jati, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency's spokesman, said the agency is still collecting data from devastated areas after the quake causing people in Mamuju run in panic to safety. About 2,000 displaced people were evacuated to several temporary shelters.
Jati said at least 62 houses, a public health center and a military office were damaged, mostly in Mamuju, and the earthquake had caused landslides in three locations and blocked mainroad connected Mamuju and Majene districts.
