After a truck turned turtle in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, locals made a dash to collect fish strewn across the road. The incident took place in the Amarpur area of Kanpur. Spectators filmed the scene and posted it on social media, which went viral. In the video, people can be seen collecting the fish in bags and buckets as they lie on the road.
Response to the video of the incident
Tweeted by a user named Gaurav Singh Sengar, the 1.19-minute video has triggered a hoard of reactions online. A user wrote: "Aaj to fish pakode khayenge sab log woh bhi free ki Machli ke...Free ke maal ko log bas yun le lete hain ki do lelo kaam aa jayega..chahe zaroorat na bhi ho ek ki ..(sic)." (They will have free fish pakodas today. People take free stuff even if they don't need it for themselves.) Another user wrote that Lord Vishnu has come to earth in Matsya Avatar i.e. in form of fish to feed his devotees on Kartik Purnima. "Not a loot. Disaster management workers rescuing the victims ! (sic)", wrote the third user. While a fourth added: "It seems the entire Kanpur will have a fish feast today (sic)". Take a look at the viral video.
Poultry loot in Odisha
In a similar incident on October 31, a truck crashed in Odisha and locals started catching chicken which escaped from the truck. The incident took place in Tendakudar at Kuchinda where locals were seen loading both their hands with as many chickens as they can hold. Some of them were also carrying bags to fit in as many chickens as possible. There were some who carried the birds in a motorbike. The driver and helper, on the other hand, were trying to repair the crashed truck. Check out the video and reactions.
