Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on Thursday made headlines, not just in India, but across the globe. This was evident with how PM’s image with Abu Dhabi Prince Sheikh Mohd Bin Zayed was showcased on the iconic Adnoc Group tower in Abu Dhabi to commemorate the occasion.

A beautiful visual of the Indian flag, followed by Sheikh Mohd Bin Zayed’s handshake with PM Modi and the Abu Dhabi flag on the Adnoc Group tower is going viral as ‘Modi 2.0’ and his Cabinet of Ministers took oath for the second term. 

Sharing the video, the Indian Ambassador to UAE Navdeep Suri expressed his delight over the honour, “Now this is true friendship. As PM Modi is sworn in for a second term in office, the iconic Adnoc Group tower in Abu Dhabi is lit up with India and UAE flags and portraits of our PM and of Sheikh Mohd Bin Zayed.” 

Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the External Affairs Ministry also expressed his pride, “An extraordinary gesture! UAE government lit up the iconic ADNOC building in #AbuDhabi on the occasion of the swearing-in ceremony of PM @narendramodi and Council of Ministers. @IndembAbuDhabi @navdeepsuri.”

Previously, another landmark tower in the Gulf, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has also been known to honour Indian festivals like Diwali and Gandhi Jayanti with similar visuals. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Union Cabinet 2.0 were sworn-in by President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a grand ceremony attended by over 8,000 guests. With a massive line-up of ministers with quite a few familiar faces and many new entrants, a total of 58 ministers were inducted in the Union Cabinet.
