The head of the World Health Organization on Monday slammed some government leaders for eroding public trust by sending mixed messages on the coronavirus.
Speaking in Geneva, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said governments should communicate clearer public health messages.
Without applying basic outbreak-control methods, he warned the pandemic crisis was "going to get worse and worse and worse”.
"We all hope there will be an effective vaccine, but we need to focus on using the tools we have now to suppress transmission and save lives," Tedros continued.
