An Australian woman who was told that her ex-boyfriend had died was stunned to find him working at a restaurant she visited. The identity of the two could not be revealed due to legal reasons, though the girl was named Rachel in several reports. The man, aged 21 years, was reportedly working a chef when the two were dating. Months ago, the man asked 18-year-old Rachel to lend him $1000 AUD to pay off his debts that piled up after he broke his hand in a night out and was out of job. Later, the two split and the man went absconding soon after, paying back only $300 to Rachel. She was initially told that her ex-boyfriend was in rehab; later a mutual friend told her that he had died.

The boy's mum told Rachel that he was dead

Rachel explained the media that back then she had no idea that the information was fake. It is not common to ask for a death certificate or any other proof when someone hears such news, she added. Reportedly, it was the boy's mum who told people about his death in the hands of a bike gang who murdered him for not repaying debt. Two years later, Rachel and her friend visited a restaurant where his brother used to work. When she asked a waitress for him, she said that his brother works there mentioning her ex-boyfriend's name, much to their surprise.

The boyfriend deliberately avoided Rachel

Rachel then asked for the manager and expressed her wish to see her boyfriend. When the manager did not cooperate, Rachel called the police who said that they cannot take her word for evidence. The girl then received a text from the boy's mother asking her to not create a mess which might render his son jobless. Reportedly, it wasn't the first time that she caught hold of him lying; another day she had seen him working in an eatery. When she tried to confront him, he refused to recognise her.
