Restaurants reopen in Mexico as restrictions eased

Hotels and restaurants reopened in Mexico's capital on Wednesday, for the first time since lockdown began in March. The gradual reactivation is part of the city's economic recovery plan. As some places faced this "new normal" with rigorous hygiene measures, in other areas there was chaos, traffic and people crowding the streets.
According to the epidemiological four-colour coding system to go back to the "new normal", in which red means the worst social conditions to reopen and green the bests, Mexico City is now at the "orange" stage. Hotels and restaurants can be open at about 30 per cent of their capacity. General Manager at Central Hotel Zocalo, Luis Gonzalez Zesatti thinks the return will be "quite slow". Mexico reported 231,770 coronavirus cases and 28,510 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
