18 Dead as Saurya Airlines Plane with 19 Onboard Skids Off Runway, Crashes at Kathmandu Airport
A Saurya Airlines Pokhara-bound flight crashed at Kathmandu Airport as it skid off the runway; 18 out of 19 on board have died; the pilot has survived.
Kathmandu: A Saurya Airlines flight which was going to Pokhara with 19 passengers, crashed in Nepal.
The flight skid off the runway and crashed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Eighteen out of nineteen on board have died in the crash.
Saurya Airlines Plane Crashes in Kathmandu
An aircraft belonging to a private airline company with 19 people on board crashed during takeoff at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning.
At least 19 people, including aircrew, were aboard the Pokhara-bound Saurya Airlines plane which met with the accident at around 11 am, sources said.
Nepal Plane Crash: Death Toll Reaches 18
While a rescue operation is underway, as of now, a total of eighteen people on board have died in the crash and their bodies have been recovered from the site. The death toll is likely to increase.
Fire Under Control
Local media images showed smoke rising and plane wreckage scattered all over a ditch. A fire has been brought under control.
