About a dozen protesters gathered outside Walt Disney's South Korea office to urge citizens to boycott Disney's 'Mulan' and criticize China's national security law in Hong Kong.
The activists said South Koreans must boycott the upcoming movie because the lead actress Liu Yifei expressed support for Hong Kong police on social media.
The protesters also criticized the Chinese government for passing the controversial law that makes secessionist, subversive, or terrorist activities illegal in the semi-autonomous territory.
Critics say the law effectively ends the “one country, two systems” framework under which Hong Kong was promised a high degree of autonomy.
