'Thalapathy 64': Vijay-starrer goes on floors with pooja, cast attends

Vijay fans are waiting with bated breath for the release of the Diwali release Bigil. But there’s a news that will keep delighted till then. The Tamil actor announced his next film, his 64th, that went on floors on Thursday. As Indians often start an important task with a prayer, the team conducted a ‘Pooja’ before getting into action.

Auspicious start 

The team of Thalapathy 64, a name their ‘Thalapathy’s 64th film will be known as till it finds a title, got together for the first day of shoot. XB Film Creators, who are the producers of the movie, shared a photograph on Twitter and wrote, “With all your Goodwill and Blessings #Thalapathy64 shoot begins.” 

Standing alongside Vijay are his co-stars Malavika Mohanan, Vijay Sethupathi, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, music director Anirudh Ravichander, director Lokesh Vanangaraj and the other members of the squad. 

While Vijay kept it casual in a shirt and jeans, Malavika, Anirudh and Vijay Sethupathi are all dressed in traditional attires.

‘#Thalapathy64pooja’ immediately went to the top of the trends as soon as the announcement was made. 

The makers have been sharing one update about the movie every day before the movie went on floors. A poster featuring Vijay Sethupathi was first unveiled, and then Angamaly Diaries fame Anthony Varghese and Shantanu Bhagyaraj were announced. Malavika Mohanan’s poster was the one that was unveiled on Wednesday. 

It is not clear what the movie’s plot will be all about, but it is being said that Vijay Sethupathi is playing an antagonist opposite Vijay and the movie is likely to be an action drama.

Vijay gearing up for Bigil 

Meanwhile, Vijay is currently gearing up for the release of Bigil. The first look posters of the movie had generated intense buzz. AR Rahman has composed the music for the movie and the song releases had delighted Vijay fans immensely, and they had ensured that the numerous hashtags related to it were trending. Vijay is also set to lend his voice to one of the tracks.  

The movie also stars Nayanthara and Vijay is seen in different looks in the movie, including one of a football player and one as an elderly person.
