'This is for Bureaucracy': Elon Musk Wields Chainsaw Gifted by Argentina’s Milei

Elon Musk was seen flexing a chainsaw gifted by Argentine President Javier Milei on the CPAC stage Thursday, amid the Department of Government Efficiency’s financial cuts to the federal government.

The Tesla CEO received the chainsaw ahead of his sit-down interview with Argentina’s President at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland.

Milei handed the chainsaw to the head of DOGE, who, dressed in a Dark MAGA outfit, paraded it up and down before showing it off to the crowd.

The billionaire, sporting sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a large necklace, stormed onto the stage before setting it aside and announcing he was “living the meme.”

“We’re trying to get good things done, but also, you know, have a good time doing it… and keep a sense of humor,” Musk said. “This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy.”

Musk shared a picture on X with the caption, “This is a real picture.”

The saw blade was engraved with words, “Viva la libertad carajo!,” which translates to “Long live freedom, Goddammit!”

The chainsaw symbolized Milei’s push to restore fiscal discipline in Argentina, with the president using the tool as a symbol of his efforts.

Reports suggest Milei’s government layoffs in Argentina inspired the DOGE team, which aims to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in executive branch agencies.
