New Delhi: As Donald Trump is set to make a comeback as US President, his niece Mary L Trump said she was "deeply sorry". The 59-year-old is the daughter of Donald Trump's late brother, Fred Trump Jr.

A psychologist by profession, she authored an unauthorized biography of Donald Trump titled "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man."

"I am so deeply sorry. I thought better of us," she said on X,  as the global leaders extended their wishes to the 78-year-old Republican.

Meanwhile, congratulatory messages poured from world leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer, for Donald Trump after his ‘historic’ comeback in the US presidential election.

Starmer was among the first world leaders to issue a congratulatory message soon after Trump addressed a rally in Florida to claim victory in the US presidential race.

He said the "special relationship" between the UK and the US would continue to prosper under the new American administration after Trump clinched crucial battleground states in the US overnight.

The 78-year-old Republican leader cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency by securing a victory in the key battleground state of Wisconsin.
