Two Indonesian women break into a brawl over 'Rendang' at a wedding
Rendang an Indonesian spicy red meat dish led to a brawl between two women in Indonesia at a wedding. The video of the two women fighting has now gone viral.

Rendang, an Indonesian spicy red meat dish originating from the Minangkabau people of Indonesia became the reason for a fight between two women. The dish that is crispy in texture and one of the most beloved in Indonesia became a social media sensation from across the world after a recent video of two women fighting over it went viral.
In the video, two Indonesian women, impeccably dressed at a wedding reception fought over the dish at a buffet. In the video, one woman wearing a maroon dress called out another lady in green for taking 'too many pieces' of the coconut-curry beef from the service tray. In no time, the tiff over the few pieces of beef turned into a brawl at the wedding.
Fight over a dish
At one point in time in the video, the lady in the maroon could be seen telling that the lady in a green dress that she has neither class nor shame for taking the extra pieces and asked if she wanted to feed the whole village. In retaliation, the woman in green then responded saying that she can do whatever she wanted to, later breaking into a verbal spat between the two ladies, prompting guests at the wedding to intervene and break both the women apart.

Rendang is one of the characteristic foods of Minangkabau culture which is traditionally served at ceremonial occasions and to honor guests during festive occasions such as wedding feasts. CNN International even chose rendang as the number one most delicious dish of their world's 50 most delicious dish in 2011 by an online poll of 35000 people. Rendang is also traditionally served among the Malay community and the Maranao people.
