Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was mom-shamed by a Daily Mail writer for attending the US Open to watch and support her friend Serena Williams without her son Archie. Meghan sat in William's player box with Serena's husband Alexis Ohanian, Oracene Price and Venus Williams, Serena's mother, and sister respectively. Patrick Mouratoglou, Serena's coach and Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour was also seen sharing the same box. While many saw a strong woman supporting a friend, for a British tabloid, it became a chance to mock and criticize the Duchess.

The writer criticized the Duchess of Sussex for taking a solo trip and leaving her four-month-old son Archie at home. The writer also compared the Duchess to herself claiming that she would never leave her firstborn at home even for a few days. She further said that Meghan's trip back to her country to support her friend was just a stunt and was just flaunting her famous friendships. The writer went on to say that the Duchess has offended the Queen as she has not gone to the Queen's Scottish residence in Balmoral and instead took a trip to the States.

"Mom-shaming is disgusting": Netizens react

The writer drew widespread criticism from netizens who asked: "What right has she to not only mum shame but pass judgement again so strongly." Another Twitter user wrote, "mom-shaming is disgusting." According to the reports in 2016, the writer left her 11-year-old son in a hotel room for six hours while she and her husband attended an event. Their son was reportedly found wandering the hotel corridors at night. A Twitter user recalled the incident and wrote, "remember in 2016 when she left her 11-year old son alone in a hotel room while she and her husband were out partying?"

Meghan cheers loudly for Williams

Even though the Duchess had a hard time with the British Media, the crowd at Flushing Meadows made the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle feel like home. She was seen cheering loudly for Williams. The Duchess was seen among the New Yorkers after a long time. As the New York Fashion Week is also around the corner, netizens hope to see the Duchess in a show or two before her flight back to Britain.
