Meghan Markle says 'not many people have asked if I'm OK'

In a recently released clip from a documentary, Meghan says, "It’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes," about her pregnancy.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is spoke about the pressures of being a new mother in the public eye. A recently released clip from the documentary 'Harry & Meghan: An African Journey' produced by a British television network showed the former American actor saying, "Not many people have asked if I’m ok ... it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."

Royal couple in new documentary

The documentary is set to debut in Britain on October 20 which will present a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of the royal couple’s recent tour of southern Africa. In it, Meghan Markle speaks to programme anchor Tom Bradby about the constant attention she gets from the yellow press during her pregnancy and initial months with son Archie who was born on May 6.

“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” Markle said. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s um…yeah. I guess, also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Prince Harry vs British tabloids

Prince Harry had previously filed a lawsuit against British publication, The Sun and the Daily Mirror. The lawsuit against publications is over alleged phone hacking and copyright violation. He recently stated his stand against a certain British tabloid, in this case, The Mail on October 4. According to the Duke’s statement, these tabloids have been campaigning against his wife without giving any thought to the consequences. In his statement, the prince stated that the tabloid’s action aggravated over the period Meghan Markle’s pregnancy and the birth of their son. Prince Harry’s statement also mentioned relentless propaganda with no thought about the human cost.
