Oregon reports 2 new deaths, 70 new cases of coronavirus

Oregon health officials said Wednesday that two more people have died from the new coronavirus and there are 70 new confirmed cases.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon health officials said Wednesday that two more people have died from the new coronavirus and there are 70 new confirmed cases.

The numbers bring the statewide death toll to 115 and the number of confirmed cases statewide to 2,916, according to the Oregon Health Authority.

Oregon’s 114th COVID-19 death is an 88-year-old man in Multnomah County, who tested positive on April 30 and died on May 2 at Adventist Medical Center.

Oregon’s 115th COVID-19 death is a 95-year-old man in Polk County, who tested positive on April 27 and died on May 4 at Salem Hospital.

Both had underlying medical conditions.
