The incident took place at Sutton Park, a natural reserve near Birmingham City, the United Kingdom where the local firefighters rescued a four-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier-mix as he had nearly drowned in the lake.
The West Midlands Fire took their official Twitter account, sharing the interesting story of the firefighters rescuing the dog with the help of a triple extension ladder and a personal flotation device.
The tweet was captioned, “Crews from @SuttonCfld_Fire have rescued a dog from a lake in Sutton Park. The dog was called (and this is no joke) Jesus, he was rescued on #GoodFriday by crews using a triple extension ladder and personal flotation device. #happyEaster2019”
The picture posted by them showed the furry animal along with family and its rescuers.
What came as a surprise to everyone was that dog’s name was Jesus.
On appearing at the scene, the firefighters witnessed around a crowd of 100 people on the lake’s edge, watching the dog while a few were also willing to jump into its rescue.
However, netizens have taken the internet by fire as they found the coincidence of the dog’s name and the day of its rescue quite hilarious. The comments on the post shared by West Midlands Fire show a mixed array of emotions.
