The United Kingdom and European Union have reached a 'great new deal' on October 17 amidst the EU summit in Brussels. However, the new Brexit deal led by the conservatives has received a mixed reaction. The Labour Party released an official statement a few hours after the deal was announced by EU's Jean Claude-Junker and British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, saying the party “trusts the people to decide”. The opposition party has maintained the stance to let the citizens who will be impacted the most with a deal to decide which deal is better for their peaceful existence. They have also started a public portal to vote for or against the present new agreement which according to PM Johnson takes back control.
Our Brexit position is simple. Labour trusts the people to decide.

'Do not support'
The deal which Juncker called a “fair” has not been supported by UK's main party, the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). The Northern Ireland party also released an official statement about why the members will not be able to support the proposals in Parliament. During the EU Summit today, the leaders have also drafted a revised protocol considering the Northern Ireland and the EU's Ireland about trade and other legal permissions. DUP had also withdrawn the support a couple of days before the deal was announced, and has continued to oppose the new deal.

Along with DUP, the leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn has also said that from the information which has been received, the new deal is worse than what was proposed by the former British PM, Theresa May. According to Corbyn, the present agreement also puts the citizens' rights at risk and therefore, should be rejected. Fleur Anderson, a Labour Party candidate for Parliament, also said that the vast majority of Wandsworth residents do not agree with the Brexit deal and that many people have started feeling the impact.
The vast majority of Wandsworth residents do not support #Brexit. Many are already feeling the impact. I asked all Wandsworth councillors to stand up for residents: to oppose Brexit and support a second referendum. The Conservative councillors voted against. The 'great new deal'
Now that the deal is announced and confirmed by both sides involved in Britain's divorce from the 28-nation bloc, PM Johnson said that it will now be discussed in the Parliament so that the Brexit can happen on October 31 and British country can move onto other priorities that concern the nation like cost of living and crimes. The President of European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker has also confirmed the presence of a new deal in a tweet. “Where there is a will, there is a deal,” he wrote. Juncker further also stated that the new agreement is “balanced and fair”. Considering the previous problems that clouded over the Brexit draft regarding the Backstop, Juncker said that the deal is a “testament” to the commitment of the UK and EU to “find a solution”.
We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control — now Parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment #GetBrexitDone #TakeBackControl pic.twitter.com/etNQNeIfgw
