Police and emergency workers were in attendance at Harmondsworth detention centre in west London on Saturday after immigrants armed with weapons instigated disorder during a period of power loss.

A group of people being held at the centre entered a courtyard area brandishing items to be used as weapons, reports from the Home office stated.

The reports also state that no one was injured during the incident at the unit based near Heathrow airport.

All detainees were held on the premises and have subsequently reentered the building.
