'French Spiderman' banned from climbing UK buildings after scaling London's tallest skyscraper. Here's why

French urban climber Alain Robert has been banned from climbing any building in UK after scaling one of London’s tallest skyscrapers without ropes — and without permission. Alain Robert climbed the 662-foot (202-meter) Heron Tower in the City of London on Thursday, forcing police to set up a safety cordon and stop traffic in the area. Mr. Robert reached the top of the building in around 45 minutes, however, he was arrested immediately after that. When Mr. Robert was arrested at the top of the tower he immediately handed his passport and the number of his lawyer to the officers. He appeared in a London court on Friday where the 56-year-old was sentenced to 20-week suspended sentence and ordered to pay £5,500 compensation to the City of London Police after he pleaded guilty to causing a public nuisance. The 56-year-old daredevil, known as “the French Spiderman" is a former rock climber. Born on 7 August 1962 in Digoin, Alain says his passion began in childhood when he spent his times climbing cliffs in the gorges of southwestern France. The Frenchman turned his attention to skyscrapers in the mid-1990s. What buildings has he climbed? Robert stated that his biggest achievement was to climb the Burj Khalifa. His last London climb was Portland Tower in 2007 and he said he only thought of climbing the Heron Tower after seeing some pictures of it two days ago.
