The Princess of Wales, Kate, will not be resuming public duties in time for the Colonel's Review next month, dispelling earlier speculations about her participation.

Scheduled for 8 June in London, the Colonel's Review holds significance for Kate, because she, as the Colonel of the regiment, traditionally takes the salute. However, Buckingham Palace has confirmed her absence from the event this year, as per a report from Sky News.

What is Colonel's Review?

The Colonel's Review serves as a dress rehearsal for Trooping the Colour, an annual ceremonial event at Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall, marking the official birthday of the British sovereign.

While the absence of Kate from public duties continues, Buckingham Palace recently announced the King's participation in Trooping the Colour on 15 June. The monarch returned to public engagements last month following a diagnosis of undisclosed cancer confirmed in February.

In a parallel revelation, Kate disclosed her own battle with cancer in March, undergoing preventive chemotherapy. Since then, she has refrained from public appearances, leaving uncertainty about her attendance at Trooping the Colour alongside other members of the Royal Family.
