The Royal Household has announced a full-time job as a Liveried Helper to provide daily care for the horses at the Royal Mews for an income of £22,400/year

The Royal Household has announced a job vacancy of a full-time place as a Liveried Helper to provide daily care for the horses at the Royal Mews for an income of £22,400 per annum, plus 15% non-contributory pension and benefits. The accommodation will also be provided with a salary abatement. The helper will be expected to exercise and train them regularly along with getting the horses ready for their role in ceremonial activities. The “highly capable and confident rider” will also be responsible for the maintenance of the stables and cleaning saddlery.

Applications for the job

According to the website, the job applications will not be accepted after October 10 for their interviews on October 21 and 22. The Helper will also get an “opportunity to play a part in the ceremonial events” while providing assistance to the Coachmen with riding and driving the horses. The Royal Family wants the Liveried helper to aim to attain greater standards for the “greatest reward”. While making oneself a “real asset” to the Royal Mews team will also be able to work in a unique and stimulating work environment.

Current Jobs at the Buckingham Palace

The Queen has required many members of the staff in 2019. After hiring a gardener, the Royal Family was hunting for a Digital Communications Officer to help them with their social presence and then a chef. There are currently six job openings apart from a Liveried Helper, of an Arts Storage Programme Manager, Staff Operations Co-ordinator, General Catering Assistant, Maintainance Technician, Property Project Supervisor, and Assistant Visitor Services Manager. The qualified personnel have the option to apply for their desired job through their website. The Queen who is now 92 years in age, is deemed very fond of her horses and is reportedly often seen rising them at Windsor Castle.
