Ukraine president's tribute to crash victims

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Thursday assured Ukrainians that the truth into what caused a Ukrainian jetliner to crash in Iran, killing all 176 people on board, would "surely" be found. Zelenskiy cut short a visit to Oman to return to Kyiv and said, in a filmed statement, that a team of Ukrainian experts would go to Tehran to help investigate the crash.
He also laid flowers inside the terminal at Boryspil Airport where a makeshift memorial has been set up for the nine Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) crew members killed in the incident.
The Boeing 737 went down during a takeoff attempt from Tehran airport in the early hours of Wednesday morning, just hours after Iran launched a barrage of missiles at US forces in Iraq.
While the timing of the disaster led some aviation experts to wonder whether it was brought down by a missile, US intelligence officials said there was no immediate evidence it was shot down.
