Around 1,000 residents of Kyiv formed a human chain in solidarity with Belarusian protesters on Sunday.
Both Ukrainians and Belarusians living in Kyiv attended, marching from the city's Belarusian embassy to Independence Square, the centre of Ukraine's 2014 protest movement.
"Belarusians haven't been free for a very long time; we were like a coiled spring.
And now we're ready to go, to reach our potential," said Andrei Strizhak, a Belarusian activist in the Ukrainian capital.
At the end of the demonstration, a picture of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was set alight by the demonstrators.
