Regarding the bottle of coke sharing the stage with the heads of India and the US, it was known that Donald Trump insatiably consumes diet coke, for which the bottle was kept next to the President of United States.
Trump's diet coke obsession
It was reported by the New York Times in December 2017, that the US President consumes as much as 12 diet coke bottles every day. His unquenchable diet coke consumption has made headlines of US media houses on multiple occasions, as Donald Trump is known to order his Diet Coke with ice by pushing a red button set on his desk at the White House.
At the G20 Summit in Osaka's Japan on June 29, 2019, Donald Trump could be seen toasting his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin with coke in a wine glass. The iconic picture went viral because not only Trump drank soda, but Putin got his own mug to the dining table.
A similar incident was witnessed last year at the UN General Assembly, wherein Trump let the waiter fill his wine glass with diet coke, considering that the US President does not drink alcohol. It is in public knowledge, that Trump also does not consume coffee or tea.
PM Modi-Trump bilateral meet on sidelines of UN
Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump held a bilateral meet on the sidelines of UN General Assembly and met for the second time within three days. During the bilateral Trump remarked on his personal chemistry with PM Modi and praised him over a number of matters.
While addressing the media, Trump said that his 'personal relationship with Modi is as good as it can get'. He was asked about what impact will this meet will have on India-U.S relationship and his personal relationship with the Prime Minister, to which the President replied "Personal chemistry is as good as it can get. I have great respect and great admiration and I really like him, he's a great gentleman and a great leader."
